Ok, so obedience to God’s Word isn’t
exactly easy. If it was, we wouldn’t struggle with sin each
and every day. Unfortunately there isn’t an easy solution
to being able to obey God. It is a matter of perseverance
and daily growth with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Easy Obedience is an attempt to clear
the confusion over the commands of God. We don’t get to
pick and choose which commands we want to obey. However,
there is some debate over a few commands in the Old
Testament and whether they are still relevant in the church
age.
Still there are other commands that we
know we are to follow but we’re just not totally clear on
what they mean. Acts 15 speaks of food sacrificed to idols
as something from which Christians should abstain. Paul
later speaks on food sacrificed to idols in 1 Corinthians 8
in what may appear to be a contradiction.
Easy obedience hopes to explain such
commands and discuss whether they literally apply to us
today or if there is a principle that can be taken and used
in modern day.
As with the rest of the site, we are
using the Bible as our final word and authority for what we
do. You may disagree with our interpretation of scripture
but should acknowledge what the Bible says and reach your
own conclusion on the passage.
